I’m a scientist at Imperial College London working at the intersection of infectious disease dynamics and pathogen evolution. A bit more about me: https://profiles.imperial.ac.uk/e.volz
I created this blog to provide an informal channel to
- Discuss recent research (mostly our own). We’ll use this space to share a more opinionated and journalistic view than is normal in published research.
- Provide miscellaneous updates from our research group, jobs, talks, career updates.
I’ve yet to meet a scientist that misses twitter, and algorithm-driven microblogs inevitably degenerate into a race for attention. I agree with Erick Matsen. When scientists blog, we should get back to basics.
